Versions in force and revision process

Only the version in force is authoritative. This page lists the current versions, describes how revisions are conducted and gives access to the earlier versions of the Effinature standard since 2010; the full documentary history is published in French.

The 2020 generation (BAT 20-001, REN 20-001, AME 20-001) and the 25.05 generation remain applicable to operations started under them, until their completion; no new contract is concluded under them after 31 December 2026. The versions in force are made available free of charge on effinature.com; the earlier versions, since 2010, can be downloaded from the version gallery. Only the version in force is authoritative.

Every version of the Effinature standard

NORMATYS publishes the earlier versions of the Effinature standard since 2010, so that anyone can find the text that applied at a given date: they can be downloaded here as PDFs, free of charge, under the CC BY-ND 4.0 licence. The versions in force are made available free of charge on effinature.com; the 2020 and 25.05 generations, for operations already under way, can be downloaded here. The documents are in French.

Historical versions are reissued with unchanged content, or reproduced as full facsimiles of the archive copy; the publisher names, addresses and contacts they contain are those of their publication date. Only the version in force is authoritative; the 2020 and 25.05 generations remain applicable to operations started under them, until their completion. An application filed before 19 October 2026 keeps its version if its contract is signed no later than 31 December 2026; after that date, no new contract is concluded under the 2020 or 25.05 versions.

How revisions are conducted

Since 19 October 2026, the standard in force is designated by its version number, 8.1, and applies to certification applications filed from that date. Earlier generations carry a reference by vintage, 25.05 (version 8.0) and 20-001 (version 7.0), which remains authoritative for operations started under them. An application filed before 19 October 2026 keeps the 2020 or 25.05 version if its contract is signed no later than 31 December 2026; after that, version 8.1 applies.

Each revision that changes a requirement follows a documented process: technical work, examination by the scheme committee, a public call for comments, traceable handling of the comments received, approval of the version by the Biodiversity Standard Council (the scientific and technical committee for the NORMATYS standards), then publication. The process is described in §8 of the scheme conditions.

Full history

The complete documentary history of the standards, from the first publication in 2010 to the current generation, is published in French: journal des versions. It records, for each version, the date, the scope of the changes and the body that settled them.
