Who owns the Effinature standard?

The Effinature standard is owned by NORMATYS, which develops and maintains it. NORMATYS is the registered trade name of DAVANTI, a company of the NORMAXIS group, entered in the Aix-en-Provence Trade and Companies Register under number 878 397 595. Effinature certification is delivered by IRICE, a certification body accredited by Cofrac under number 5-0655. NORMATYS and IRICE belong to two separate companies: NORMATYS takes no part in the certification process.

NORMATYS is the trade name, entered in the Trade and Companies Register, of DAVANTI. The Effinature and BPS standards are published under that name, as will be the forthcoming CBCA standard. NORMATYS carries out no certification, audit or conformity assessment activity: those operations are performed by accredited third-party bodies that are legally separate.

Who holds the Effinature, BPS and Efficarbone trademarks?

The trademarks are held by NORMAXIS, the group parent company. The standards are owned by NORMATYS. Certification is delivered by IRICE. These three functions sit with distinct entities, and that split is public.

NORMATYS and IRICE belong to the same group: is this compatible with Directive (EU) 2024/825?

Yes. The directive requires the owner of the certification scheme and the third-party verifier to be two separate legal entities, which is the case: NORMATYS is the trade name of DAVANTI, and DAVANTI and IRICE are two separate companies. Their common membership of the NORMAXIS group is disclosed and treated as an impartiality risk that is identified, analysed and controlled under ISO/IEC 17065, not as an absence of any link.

Openness of the scheme

Open to all traders, as the directive requires

The scheme is open to any trader willing and able to comply with its requirements, under transparent, fair and non-discriminatory terms. No exclusivity, no discretionary selection, no prior membership of any network. The eligibility criteria and the financial terms are public: scheme conditions.

Open to certification bodies, optional

The standard is available to any body accredited under ISO/IEC 17065 that meets the published conditions. This openness is not required by the directive, but it strengthens the demonstration of the scheme's independence.
