CBCA: low-carbon construction site
Standard in preparation, launch targeted for 2027
A certification standard devoted to the carbon performance of building and civil engineering sites. NORMATYS will own it; IRICE will be the body awarding it.
Indicative timetable
- Technical work and drafting of the requirements: under way, building on the measurement methodology of Efficarbone, a tool for measuring and benchmarking construction-site carbon.
- Public consultation: a call for comments before adoption, following the process described in §8 of the scheme conditions.
- Launch of certification: targeted for 2027, after publication of version 1 in the scheme conditions.
No CBCA certification is delivered to date, and no CBCA sign may be displayed before the scheme is launched.

NORMATYS and IRICE belong to two separate companies within the NORMAXIS group. NORMATYS develops the standard, IRICE assesses and decides on certification. NORMATYS takes no part in the certification process.
